Pre-K9 Puppy Training

+Six Week Program
The PRE K9, is the first step of dogging responsibly. This program teaches your puppy the most valuable lessons your puppy will ever learn. As a stray or in the wild, you puppy would have had the opportunity to learn these lessons through interactions with his/her litter mates and most importantly mum. As companion dogs, our puppies are removed from this environment so early in life, that these lessons are unlearned, and it is what creates a pushy, needy, persistent, mouthy, rude puppy.
Doglando's PRE K9 is for puppies between 8 and 16 weeks of age, and offers the most extensive and unique training program tailored for this stage of puppy development. These lessons in life can not be taught later on... it is like teaching a child to be polite.

• Basic Obedience
6 weeks of basic obedience instruction from top qualified trainers.
• Behavioral Counseling
Biting, barking, lunging? All your questions about behavioral issues are answered, and training solutions given too.
• Nutrition & Health
Ever wonder why some people spend $80 for kibble? Learn the secrets of commercial food marketing, and the benefits of proper nutrition.
• Socialization & Handling
Wary of dog parks? We are too! Give your puppy the safest socialization available through supervised and structured play with top qualified trainers. In addition to meeting once a week with the families for their instructional obedience class, the dogs are dropped off for the 5 Saturdays in between the 6 week week course for an all day play, train, grow, and enrich program. Everything they learn during the week is applied to real life, off leash experiences.... we call this situational training.
• Exposure & Enrichment
Ever meet an awesome dog that could do anything? Ever meet a completely fearful dog that would refuse to do anything? The difference comes down to enrichment and exposure. Allow your puppy to be uniquely challenged every week and watch them grow.

PRE K9 Tutoring

Different Puppies develop at different paces. A Puppy's development depends on a lot of different things such as:
• breed
• birth environment
• genetics
• nutrition
• nurture
• experiences
A puppy's mental health is also very important. Some puppies are born as sound, stable, and confident puppies, while others have to be taught through positive experiences.
This class is best for our PRE K9 graduates that need just a little bit more time and assurance. No puppy is a failure at Doglando. Some just need a bit more love, patience, guidance and encouragement. Others may leave you behind... so watch out!

Puppy Enrichment "P.E." Class

The Puppy P.E class (normally referred to as Physical Education, but in our case we call it Puppy Enrichment) is a fun four week course to take after the PRE K9 and before the BS in Dogology class.

Want to teach your puppy to open cabinets, spin, speak, or play dead? Get your fun fix with an intro to tricks!

Canine Good Citizen (C.G.C.)
Interested in getting your puppy certified for therapy? Learn how to prep your puppy with an intro to the CGC course.

Puppy Agility Training

Canine Agility is a fun, fast paced, mentally and physically stimulating sport and training course that is sure to leave you and your dog addicted.
Never before has agility been introduced to very young puppies, mainly because of their fragility and weak but developing structure. However, if it were, it would be such an important class for these young puppies because it teaches them such important lessons for example: body awareness and control, boundaries, stability, confidence, balance and the biggest lesson.... to trust their human counterparts.
So, the dog trainers at Doglando came up with an Agility class specifically designed for puppies between the ages of 8-16 weeks of age. Our agility equipment will be lowered to the ground and all inclines will be reduced in steepness to prevent hard impact on the bones and joints, as well as their growth.
You will also learn how to build your own agility equipment at home, and some easy ways to create safe, no-impact obstacles using household items.

Puppy Jr. High

8 Months - 18 Months
Just like in human children adolescence is often a rocky period for dogs as well. Like human teens, adolescent dogs explore their world and test their own abilities in ways you will not like. It's just one of the phases of life, but unfortunately does not always pass smoothly.... and sometimes the behaviors continue long adolescence time period.
An adolescent dog is:
• between the ages of 8 - 18 months of age
• more interested in the real world than in you
• appears to have selective hearing
• shy, frightened and lacks confidence
• becoming sexually mature
• seems to have forgotten his/her bed side manners
• full of energy
• testing waters with bite inhibition bullying dog friends and other dogs
• marking their territory
• engaging in blunt power struggles
Adolescent adventuring can be wearing on pet parents and other animals as well... especially other dogs. Most dogs are abandoned to shelters during this development phase, but that is the irresponsible way out.
The good news is, adolescence goes by much more quickly in canines than in people and by enrolling your dog into Doglando's Puppy Jr. High program you can keep enjoying your dog.

Puppy Parties
$5/dog
+Early socialization for your puppy is crucial to the development of a well rounded, adult dog. Socializing with other puppies before your puppy is fully vaccinated can be a challenge due to health exposure concerns but this is the time period when it matters most to their development. In a public setting, you don't always know if your puppy is being exposed to other puppies/dogs that have not been vaccinated, making them vulnerable to illnesses. We've created a safer environment! Puppy Parties at Doglando are only open to puppies who have had at least one round of vaccinations. Puppy parties are split up in one hour play dates, and all puppies are grouped by age.
In addition to socializing with other puppies of similar age but with varying personalities, your puppy will also meet a variety of new people and be exposed to numerous new objects and obstacles on Doglando's different play areas to assist in building confidence.
Each party begins with a 10 min Q & A with a dog trainer to assist with some challenging behaviors and guidance, play "Pass the Puppy" to work on handling exercises and allow the puppies to play off-leash together in a supervised environment.

At the University of Doglando we offer a program that will train your puppies soon after birth so that they are educated when placed in forever homes. Training puppies soon after birth will help develop stability, confidence, well-balanced puppies so that they can be matched with an understanding forever home.
Doglando's Puppy Kindergarten for breeders is tailored to help breeders with potty training, bell training, socialization, physical handling and an early start to basic obedience training.
